Yes the planet is getting smaller

Yes the planet is getting smaller!  We've seen that happening so many times, more so now with the Covid-19 virus happening all over the planet!

Taal volcano erupts

The planet is in turmoil.  It's crying for our help.  Bush-fires in Australia, the Amazon, California, and New Zealand; earthquakes and sandstorms in Iran and the Middle East; floods in Dubai, and snow in Saudi Arabia.  And now volcanic eruptions in Mexico, Japan, and the Philippines.  All and everything happening at the same time.  Is it the end times as foretold in The Bible?

National Tempura Day

I've grown to love this Japanese dish.  It's a bit expensive for me but I like it's naturalness, healthy options, plus how it is presented when it's delivered to my dining table.

New Year 2020

Photo c/o RMO
What's the New Year for?  It's finally here!  A new year must always bring hope.  We may be in the deepest hole at the end of the old year but the new one should always make us look forward and up!  It is also a time of reflection on what worked and didn't work, and what could and should be done this time around.

Boxing Day

It's that time of year once more, the day right after Christmas, when the Christmas signs are replaced with huge placards, posters and banners announcing SALE, BIG SAVINGS, DISCOUNTS, BARGAINS, etc., while outside, in the heat of a Kiwi summer, parking is such a premium.  It's another one of those modern traditions that involves hordes of people moving around, looking for the next best deal.  The travails of Boxing Day!

National Eggnog Day

A lot happens during Christmas Eve, the mad-rush for last minute shopping and buying of gifts, food, drinks, and groceries for the feasts ahead.  This year my daughter Jess, introduced us to this concoction called eggnog.  It is also known as eggnog punch made with milk, cream, sugar, whipped eggs, spices, and a dash of liquor.  She also added liquid chocolate as flavoring.  I've seen people on social media making this drink, heaping praises to it's wonders.  I took a tiny bit of sip and I didn't like it!  I will stick to fizzy drinks, sparkling wine, and water.  Merry Christmas!
